About Mike
I am a student of human nature, self-development and personal growth. Therefore I have concluded that the more moments of joy that we experience in life, the more successful life we will have led. So this web page is my way of sharing what I have learned thus far and what I continue to learn. The principles and methods I have learned help me tremendously, however, you need to keep them top of mind and use them daily. My hope is that sharing these principles with you, will help me by helping you!
Often I use Martial Arts principles applied to normal life. How to use what you’ve been given to get what you want. Cultivating the awareness that sees everything is how it should be or it would not be so. How to maximize your strengths and minimize your deficits, principles and techniques to attain your desired outcome in the least harmful, easiest, most efficient way possible. Sharing ways of connecting in a positive way with yourself, your environment, and others of like mind.
Adapting to Life
Life is such that if you don’t learn the first time you are destined to stumble on the same stone again and again. Along the way, if many sources of information point you in the same direction then there’s a pretty good chance you’re going the right way. This site is about sharing those pointers. It isn’t always going to be joyful and / or easy. BUT.., we can aspire to for fun, joy, contentment, happiness, peace and a passion for life. If we are at least aiming at it and choosing a direction then we will be harnessing ourselves and our power of choice on a fundamental level.
So here we go – learn something, teach/share something – remember something. I hope you will find something useful.
A Day in Mike’s Shoe’s
Throughout my life I have continually focused on self development and personal growth. As a Son, brother, husband, electrician, contractor, mentor, teacher, dirt biker, snowmobile enthusiast, mountain biker, Martial artist, and SPIRITUAL WEIRDO. Really just a all around regular good guy! I only mention this stuff to give context to my life experiences. Definitely not perfect, continually learning while embracing humility – I do my best to BE my best!
Principles and Experience
The principles and ideas I share and present are not necessarily new. Many have been around for thousands of years. I have picked up ideas from many sources such as I Ching , Lao Tzu, Sun Tzu “The art of war”, Eckhart Tolle, Buddhism. Also, in the study of of jujitsu, Dale Carnegie, Stephen Covey – just to name a few. Self observation of myself, my challenges, successes, and failures are often my guide. Noting continually what has been effective and what matters most. I know that fundamentally my humanity is the same as everyone else’s and by that, what I know helps me I know can help you!
